Federal funding is available for the pre-start-up phase of a new business. If you start your own business while unemployed, your local employment agency may grant coaching resources. Federal Ministry of Economics and Technology(Bundesministerium für Wirtschaft und Technologie – BMWi). finances grants for consultations / coaching in the post-start-up phase through funds from the European Social Fund by means of the Federal Office of Economics and Export Control (BAFA). For startups founded by scientists and graduates of colleges and universities, the Ministry of Economic Affairs has started the coaching program „EXIST“. You can find more information about the program on the website of Exist.
